The Confederation of Independent Football Associations hosts The World Football Cup every other year since 2014. This year marks the first time a North American team will be represented at the tournament, and three members of The Mighty Oak will be joining the Cascadia side for the 11-day event.

Yuri Farkas, Matthieu Braem and Hector Morales will be in London for the CONIFA sponsored tournament which runs from May 31st-June 10th. Although all three players will be missed from the lineup, Eric Rudland and his side have shown how deep this AFC Ann Arbor roster is, giving an opportunity for a number of guys to step up in the veterans absence.

Farkas, currently tied for most goals in the Midwest Region of the entire National Premier Soccer League will have a chance to show his talents on a global stage, an opportunity all three players couldn’t pass up.

Captain Matthieu “Frenchy” Braem said, “I’m definitely excited about this opportunity but we’ll be following the Ann Arbor matches closely on YouTube rooting on the boys. The three of us felt like this was an opportunity that might not come again so we’re looking forward to showcasing our talent and representing AFC Ann Arbor well.”
