The Mighty Oak Look to Avenge Sole Loss This Sunday

After an exhilarating comeback last week against Lansing United when AFC Ann Arbor overcame a 2-0 deficit with only 11 minutes left in the game, The Mighty Oak head to Pontiac this Sunday to face the Michigan Stars. The Stars remain the only team to defeat AFC Ann Arbor after a 2-1 comeback late in the second half in their first meeting on June 3rd.

The Michigan Stars will treat this game as if it were a playoff matchup. They are battling with Grand Rapids FC, and The Mighty Oak to gain entrance into the NPSL regional tournament. The match is as important for the Stars as it is The Mighty Oak. A victory for either side will ensure movement at the top of the Great Lakes West conference.

AFC Ann Arbor remains unbeaten in league play on the road and look to continue that trend by earning another tough road result.  With just four league matches remaining in the 2016 campaign, three of which will be away fixtures, the club will look for the continued support of the Main Street Hooligans and other traveling fans.

The match, set to kick-off at 5pm, will be tweeted live so be sure to follow along at @afcannarbor on Twitter.
